Dr. O Memorial 5K and 1-Mile Run/Walk

Running for Hope

Join us for the second annual memorial 5K run and 1-mile walk in honor of Dr. Jack O’Handley. Dr. O’Handley was deeply loved by his community for his kind, compassionate care as a doctor and peer. He served as the Medical Director of the Mount Carmel Street Medicine program for over 25 years, and he previously led the Mount Carmel Family Medicine Residency program as the program director.

Together, We Carry Dr. O’s Legacy Forward

Dr. O’Handley dedicated countless hours to the success of this program and the medical care of our community. The Mount Carmel Street Medicine Program provides free urgent medical care to those in our community who are uninsured, underinsured, unhoused or struggling to access affordable medical care. The Mount Carmel Street Medicine team will be collecting donations on the day of the race, including men’s and women’s good condition hoodies, athletic pants, and tennis shoes. Participants who bring donation items will be entered into a prize drawing.
