MEMBER HIGHLIGHT: Karl Kortlandt
Karl Kortlandt wanted to lose weight, improve his cardiorespiratory endurance, flexibility, muscle tone and balance skills. He decided to join a Next Steps™ fitness program to reach his fitness goals. Fitness specialist Kelsey created a custom fitness plan for Karl after his Polar BodyAge® fitness assessment.
During the 8-week program, Karl visited Mount Carmel Fitness Center four to six times per week. To improve his cardiorespiratory endurance Karl participated in Spin® classes to achieve his 100 intensity minutes per week goal. He also used the exercise bikes and ellipticals on the fitness floor.
“Every member of the staff was very professional and were helpful. Kelsey was the most helpful since she was the one who worked with me the most and continued to encourage me,” said Karl.
The Next Steps program introduced Karl to the Mount Carmel Fitness facility and encouraged him to exercise on a regular basis again. He became a new member of Mount Carmel Fitness Center after the eight-week program to continue his exercise program.
“I have already recommended the facility and program to others because I am really impressed that the facility does not look, feel or smell like a gym. It is kept very clean and fresh. The equipment is well maintained and the classes offered are varied enough to be of interest to most people,” said Karl.
