Member Finds Success with MyFitRx® Program
Robyn had back pain every day, especially sitting at work. She was walking every day for exercise but hit a plateau and was not able to lose any weight. She didn’t have any stamina and didn’t feel strong. Her doctor suggested working out. Robyn would drive past Mount Carmel Fitness Center every day going to work. She called and found out about the MyFitRx® program. Robyn came to the center and started the program.
“When I was participating in the MyFitRx® program I got positive reinforcement from the fitness staff. Just to know that I was able to do the exercises correctly and that if I wasn’t doing them correctly, they would help me. Just feeling confident that I was able and could do it! I would have been too intimidated to just come in here and do this on my own.”
Robyn feels better than she did before. She has more stamina and feels stronger. She comes to the center straight from work 4 days a week and works around other obligations that may get in the way of that she can stay consistent.
“I don’t struggle like I did before with carrying groceries and other general chores that felt harder to do. My back doesn’t hurt like it did before either. I sleep better and have more strength. My coordination is better. I have met other people who have similar fitness journeys and are the same age which is nice. I get encouragement from other members I don’t know which feels good.”
When asked if she would recommend Mount Carmel Fitness Center, Robyn says,
“I never joined anywhere else before. I like the medical/health aspect of the Center. The front desk staff knows me by my first name which means a lot to me. I tell people about the Mount Carmel Fitness Center. I tell them it is worth the commitment and time. Having the fitness staff available feels like having a mentor that can guide me and makes me feel welcome, not intimidated. The MyFitRx® program makes it easy to get started. The Fitness Center is cool and comfortable and has a good atmosphere with no blaring music. If someone knows how to use the equipment it’s a good facility. Very clean and nice with a big parking lot.”
